You & your roleDrive innovation by designing, building, and validating AI applications within a regulated enterprise environment. As a Senior AI Engineer, you collaborate closely with data scientists and business stakeholders to operationalise AI models and ensure alignment with internal standards for security, compliance, and reliability.
Together with your team, you translate business challenges into experiments. Your role is to make ideas work technically: assessing feasibility, building prototypes, and iterating toward solutions that perform in practice. You will work in close collaboration with a central AI enablement function and international colleagues.
You will join an environment that offers autonomy, technical depth, and visible impact. You will help build a future-proof GenAI stack and shape how thousands of colleagues use AI in a responsible, efficient, and enjoyable way.
Practical examples- In your first month, you help set up an experiment for one of the team’s AI use cases within a secure enterprise platform. This includes configuring RAG pipelines, running prompting workshops with business subject matter experts, and building an evaluation suite.
- Beyond project work, you support other engineers in developing AI engineering skills. You also contribute to identifying and assessing next-generation AI opportunities, facilitating the technical side of workshops, and translating ideas into concrete prototype plans.

Key responsibilities
- Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts for GenAI use cases, including RAG pipelines and agent-based architectures
- Configure and optimise LLM workflows, vector databases, and retrieval systems on cloud-based data platforms
- Develop evaluation frameworks to measure solution quality, including prompt testing and output validation
- Assess technical feasibility of proposed AI solutions and advise on realistic implementation paths
- Facilitate the technical aspects of prompting workshops with business subject matter experts
- Integrate GenAI components with existing data infrastructure and enterprise systems
- Mentor engineers and support their growth into AI engineering roles
- Contribute to technical vision, standards, and knowledge sharing within the team
You are a tenacious engineer with a strong sense of craftsmanship and a drive to create impact. You finish what you start, thrive in ambiguity, adapt when priorities shift, and persist through technical complexity. Your work directly influences how AI is experienced across the organisation.
Required qualifications- 5+ years of experience in a technical role (e.g. software engineering, DevOps, ML, or data science)
- Proven experience building LLM-based applications, including prompt engineering and evaluation
- Strong hands-on skills in Python, SQL, API development, and modern AI/ML tooling
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. Databricks or similar)
- Experience with cloud AI services (e.g. managed LLMs, search, document processing)
- Solid understanding of vector databases and RAG patterns
- Awareness of security, observability, and compliance best practices in AI systems
- Strong communication skills in English
- Comfort with ambiguity, iterative problem-solving, and changing priorities
- Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and align on solutions
- Knowledge of agentic frameworks, RAG architectures, or multi-agent orchestration
- Background in regulated industries (e.g. finance, healthcare, energy)
- Demonstrated ability matters more than credentials; practical experience building and shipping AI solutions is key
