You will help build the data platform that connects data producers and data consumers across the bank, enabling teams to discover, trust and use data to power advanced analytics, AI models and next-generation customer services.
The journey: from fragmented data to a unified data ecosystem
Historically, data in large financial institutions lives in many different places: legacy systems, operational databases, CRM platforms, risk engines and external data sources.
Rabobank is building a modern data ecosystem in Azure, where data is:
- reliably ingested from hundreds of internal and external systems
- transformed and curated into trusted datasets
- governed through metadata, lineage and quality frameworks
- exposed to consumers via APIs, event streams and analytical platforms
This platform is the foundation for:
- AI-driven customer insights
- fraud detection and risk analytics
- personalized banking experiences
- real-time financial services
- data products used across the bank
To make this possible, we are building a data platform that harmonizes producers and consumers of data across Rabobank.
As a Software Engineer in Data Foundation, you help design and engineer the platform capabilities that make this ecosystem possible.
Your role
As a Software Engineer in the Data Foundation team, you work at the heart of Rabobank’s data platform.
You design and build the infrastructure, pipelines and platform components that allow data to flow through the organization securely and reliably.
Your work enables:
- data engineers to build pipelines faster
- data scientists to train AI models
- product teams to build customer-facing services
- analysts to discover and trust datasets
You will operate with a DevOps mindset, meaning you don’t just build systems, you also ensure they are reliable, scalable and continuously evolving.
This role sits at the intersection of:

Required experience
- Strong experience with Azure cloud infrastructure
- Experience building Data / ETL / ELT pipelines (Databricks or similar)
- Experience with SQL-based cloud databases
- Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep or similar)
- CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
- Experience exposing data through APIs or event streams
- Strong scripting skills (Python / Bash / PowerShell)
- Experience with Git-based development
