As a Security Officer (Network Security), you will play a critical role in safeguarding the global IT landscape. You will support the monitoring, assessment, and improvement of our network and datacenter security posture, ensuring compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
Your primary focus is on network and infrastructure security, protecting network devices, datacenter environments, and third-party connections. Acting as the first line of defense, you monitor risks, support investigations, and escalate findings to second-line security officers or IT teams when necessary.
You will collaborate closely with Capability Leads within the Assurance & Resilience team, while also embedded in IT operations, ensuring security is seamlessly integrated into day-to-day activities.
RESPONSIBILTIES
Operational Security Activities
- Provide guidance and support to operational teams for effective security implementation.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security into daily operations.
- Drive mitigation efforts and validate resolution progress with stakeholders.
Policy & Control Translation
- Translate policies and standards into practical, testable controls.
- Identify gaps and assess associated risks in collaboration with Assurance & Resilience.
Reporting & Governance
- Deliver clear, actionable insights to management and Capability Leads.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying cross-team themes and proposing enhancements.
Awareness & Enablement
- Promote a culture of security awareness through training and knowledge sharing.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Monitor and report on the security status of network and datacenter environments.
- Support IT operations in maintaining security standards, baselines, and controls.
- Assist in vulnerability management, including asset identification, patching, and hardening.
- Verify implementation of network security controls and escalate non-compliance.
- Contribute to incident management, investigations, and forensics.
- Drive improvements based on audits, incidents, and best practices.
- Align network security controls across IT and OT teams.
- Support audits, penetration tests, and compliance checks.
Focus Areas
- Network devices: routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, DHCP
- Datacenter infrastructure: access control, segmentation (LAN/WAN/WLAN/DC)
- Third-party network connections
- Emerging technologies: SDN, Zero Trust, Infrastructure-as-Code, IoT/ICS

Employment: You will be employed by YER and seconded to our client.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in network, infrastructure, or server security in complex IT environments
- Proven SME experience in network or connectivity security
- Hands-on with network devices and datacenter infrastructure
- Experience with vulnerability management, audits, compliance, and incident response
- Knowledge of Zero Trust, SDN, IaC, or OT/ICS environments is a plus
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCNP Security, Security+) are advantageous
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Strong understanding of security controls, standards, baselines, and enforcement
- Ability to perform risk assessments, root cause analysis, and KPI reporting
- Knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, SANS, COBIT/ITIL)
Soft Skills
- Analytical, proactive, and results-driven
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
