We are now looking for a Lead Engineer, who will join the Project Execution team in the Diaphragm & Periflow value stream and will support in making a valuable difference in the century to come.
The Lead Engineer plays a key role in coordinating the engineering activities for customer projects, interprets and defines the technical scope and technical implementation of projects based on customer requirements and Howden standards and has a big impact on both the technical and the financial success of a project. This is a unique opportunity to work with a highly motivated team to capture the growth opportunities in the renewable hydrogen market!
What needs to be done?
- Technically responsible for the project, is the technical right-hand of the project manager, leads the team of engineers and is the primary contact person for the customer when it comes to the technical execution of the project, including safety aspects.
- Being the primary technical contact person for the customer, reviewing technical progress and advice customers on technical issues related to the project.
- Leads a multidisciplinary team of engineers to make sure the technical specifications and quality specifications of a project are met, from project kick-off until release of all required engineering deliverables, including all documents needed to create IOM and MDR manuals.
- Is responsible for 3rd line support during installation, commissioning and service.
- Initiates and leads internal continuous improvement projects relates to the project execution processes.
- Provides input and insight on the project execution team. He or she acts as a point of contact for the Project Execution Leader on capacity and continuous improvement.

What do you need to bring?
- Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or Science, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
- Technical knowhow of heavy industry related machinery and equipment, preferably extended with knowledge and experience of engineering rotating equipment.
- A multidisciplinary view on engineering.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers with different competencies and expertise.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to zoom-in and zoom out, ability to maintain a helicopter view.
- Direct customer contact experience.
- Ability to prioritize and take decisions quickly while maintaining a high quality of work.
- Strong communication skills, creative problem-solving attitude and strong customer focus.
- Team player mentality, proactive mindset and quality minded attitude.
