Do you consider yourself ambitious, full of potential, curious and adventurous, and are you looking to accelerate your career in the retail and real estate industry? This unique, internationally- oriented position is just what you’re looking for!

In this position, you will focus on delivering and supporting the success of strategic and operational projects and activities, from a general management point of view, across the Portuguese and Dutch Centres, those being Vila Do Conde Porto Fashion Outlet and Freeport Lisboa Fashion Outlet in Portugal, and Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet, in the Netherlands. You will spend 12 months in both of these countries, connecting with people at all levels across this decentralised matrix organization. Through immersion into the business, you will develop an understanding of end-to-end operations and how the assets create value from a general management point of view.

You report directly to the Centre Director, while the Regional Business Director will act as your assigned mentor. 

Your key responsibilities and tasks in this role:

  • Participate alongside members of the Centre’s leadership team – undertaking and successfully delivering and supporting various projects and activities, as directed by the Centre Director
  • Partner and work closely with the Centre Director and Group Asset Management team on asset management deliverables and projects
  • Proactively deliver and partner with colleagues in a variety of areas, as directed by the Centre Director, be that focused on Marketing, Leasing, Sustainability or Development projects as examples
  • Understand, analyse, track, and propose actions relating to Centre commercial KPIs, supporting achievements throughout the local team within which you are based
  • Propose and identify opportunities for growth and innovation, with a continuous curiosity to never accept the status quo – always looking ahead to the future – keeping value creation at the forefront of activity at all times
  • Proactively partner with key stakeholders across the Centre leadership team to deliver the Centre KPIs and projects – assisting in activities as directed by the Centre Director
  • Create innovative solutions to overcome challenges related to ways of working, with a particular focus on improving collaboration across the entire organisation whilst being solution-driven
  • Identify, track, and report on macro movements and competition developments within the local market and across the pan-European retail outlet channel
  • Be an active presence throughout the preparation, execution, and evaluation of key projects and specific strategic initiatives, including the preparation of business cases as an example
  • Proactively involve yourself in pulling together the business performance quarterly reports and budgets
  • Be a positive ambassador and champion of your Centre in everything you do whilst understanding and embracing the wider VIA portfolio
  • Fulfil the role of mentee with the Regional Business Director as your mentor with an open, curious, and commercial mind

You will spend 12 months working within the Netherlands at the Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet, and then will move abroad for a full year, experiencing a new culture, and developing unique connections with our Centres in Portugal (Vila Do Conde Porto Fashion Outlet and Freeport Lisboa Fashion Outlet), where you are provided with the opportunity to grow and develop based on the personal interests you identify during the Business Analyst Programme. This will ultimately lead to a jumpstart of your career, ensuring an attractive, fitting position after the initial two-year term.

To succeed in this position, you possess the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • 2 to 3 years of working experience, preferably within real estate. Otherwise, affinity with real estate is a requirement
  • Willingness to relocate to the Netherlands and Portugal for two 12-month periods, and flexibility around travel and working hours
  • A self-starting, entrepreneurial, innovative, inspiring, and resilient spirit
  • Curiosity, a commercial drive with an international perspective
  • The ability to see the bigger picture and deliver at the highest level while ensuring the basics are in place and excellently executed
  • Ambitious career goals and the drive to become a leading figure within the industry/channel
  • Strong interest in developing further into Asset Management, Centre Management, Strategy and Development
  • Fluency in English - additional languages are not essential but are greatly valued
