As a Naval Architect, you are responsible for supporting the technical integrity, feasibility, and regulatory compliance of superyacht designs throughout the project lifecycle.

Reporting to the Project Engineer, you work at the interface between Engineering, Production, and external stakeholders, contributing to a technically sound and compliant end product.

This role combines analytical review, regulatory interpretation, and practical coordination within a live shipyard environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Safeguard technical quality, feasibility, and consistency of naval architecture packages
  • Review and verify calculations and technical documentation prepared by external parties
  • Ensure alignment with shipyard standards, project specifications, and regulatory frameworks
  • Interpret class rules, international codes, and flag state regulations into practical design solutions
  • Support coordination with classification societies and flag administrations
  • Contribute to surveys, approvals, and regulatory processes
  • Take ownership of the weight monitoring process
  • Provide technical input for dock plans, launching operations, and transport
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated design solutions
  • Provide on-site technical support during production phases

The company combines advanced engineering with traditional craftsmanship and delivers complex, one-off yachts that set international benchmarks in design, performance, and build quality.

Operating at the absolute top of the global yachtbuilding market, the yard is recognized for its technical depth, precision, and ability to execute highly sophisticated projects for demanding clients worldwide.

  • Salary range: €3,800 - €4,900 gross per month (depending on experience)
  • 38 days off (25 vacation days and 13 ADV days for full-time employment).
  • Net allowances (internet, mobile phone, laptop)
  • Travel allowance (€0.23/km)
  • One-year contract with intention of permanent employment
  • Technically challenging projects within the top tier of luxury yacht construction

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Naval Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in yacht or shipbuilding
  • Strong understanding of shipyard production processes and constraints
  • Analytical mindset with solid technical judgment
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership
  • Fluent English

Preferred

  • Experience with 80m+ yachts
  • Familiarity with international codes and classification standards
  • Experience with commercial vessels
  • Based in the Netherlands
