The role:
As the technical–commercial link within one of the world’s leading suppliers to the food industry, the Solutions Sales Engineer works closely with regional sales teams across Eastern Europe. When customer inquiries become specific, they provide detailed input on specifications, applications and the added value of GEA’s processing solutions (such as marinating, forming, slicing, mixing, or packaging for meat, fish, poultry, plant‑based products and vegetables; all aimed at quality, efficiency and consistency).
They strengthen the commercial process with technical expertise, translate machine capabilities into practical customer solutions, support proposal development and deliver product presentations and training. They also share market insights with product management and contribute to continuous product development.
This position includes regular travel within Eastern Europe to support sales teams and advise customers precisely when technical expertise is needed.
What will they do:
- Provide technically and commercially relevant advice to colleagues and customers
- Support the creation of Engineering‑to‑Order quotations and answer product‑related questions
- Visit customers alongside account managers at qualified opportunities
- Deliver product training and presentations at trade shows and seminars
- Share market insights with product management and contribute to innovation and development

More than 3,500 people work within this division, including around 400 at the Bakel site. This location develops and produces advanced machines and complete processing lines for cutting, marinating and packaging of meat, fish and vegetables. The Bakel site also includes a Technology Center where customers can test and validate new processes to improve efficiency and product quality.

- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering or Process Technology
- Experience in machine building or technical sales is an advantage
- Strong communication skills in English. Slavic languages is a plus (essential for the East European market)
- Analytical, proactive and customer‑oriented
- Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 15–20%) with primary focus on Eastern Europe
