Fulfill a key position for the growth of Philips Innovation Engineering as Systems Engineer with experience in the Mechatronics domain and Manufacturing Systems.
As a Systems Engineer, you will work in a multi-disciplinary project team of highly skilled technical experts from both Philips Innovation Engineering and our customers.
In this role you will deliver high quality (sub-)systems designs, meeting user and business requirements.
Challenges are the application of advanced technology to real world problems, managing complexity, and executing the various phases of the V-model supporting the Senior Systems Engineer.
You will execute the required activities in the various stages of Design Control during the development lifecycle with rigor. You are responsible for driving design for quality while applying the methodologies of DfSS.
You will contribute to the accelerated innovation of products or processes.
You are familiar with the Digital Engineering domain and preferably brings knowledge in MBSE and or simulations in MatLab Simulink.

- Leading internal investigations into technical complaints regarding development and system integration issues, driving resolution and implementing preventive measures to mitigate future issues.
- Executing the system architecture design and implementation within the R&D group, overseeing the process from design initiation through commercial launch, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies, working under general supervision.
- Analyzing anomalies within systems and determines steps to reproduce, identify root causes, and propose solutions, effectively communicating with cross-functional teams and project management to drive resolution.
- Contributing to gathering, analyzing, and reviewing system-level and sub-system requirements, coordinating system partitioning and total system integration using systems engineering practices.
- Handling system requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams, leads risk management activities, and facilitates system test planning, including the identification of necessary tools and resources for verification.
- Improving process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers and cross-functional groups, analyzing activities to enhance workflow efficiency, and utilizing appropriate engineering tools and methodologies.
- Providing training and consultations on leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making processes, enhancing the team's capability to drive impactful decisions.
- Suggesting design recommendations to improve system reliability and address conflicting requirements, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
- Providing guidance and program-level management support to the systems organization involved in all aspects of product development, including concept exploration, system definition and design, testing, issue investigation and resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluating system performance and reliability through experimentation, data analysis, and implementation of improvements, ensuring alignment with project objectives and quality standards.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
- A BSc or MSc degree or equivalent in Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in innovative product development, preferably including medical devices and-imaging.
- Familiar to work according to the V-model in defining requirements, test specifications, execution of the tests and reporting the test results (draws up design requirements and produces specifications for the product)
- Proven experience in at least one of the domains medical equipment, industrial automation or high precision mechatronics as a mechatronic systems engineer
- Have clear drive for Design for Quality ensuring also the aftercare of projects. GreenBelt certification is a pré
- Experience with Model-Based System Engineering as well as other Model Based Design tools is a pré.
