As an Exterior Specialist, you will oversee the technical realization of your assigned project scope, ensuring excellence in design, 3D modeling, and engineering documentation. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring that every yacht meets the highest standards of feasibility, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop, optimize, and finalize detailed engineering designs, 3D models, and technical documentation for exterior components.
  • Ensure all work meets Class and Flag requirements, as well as Royal Van Lent’s internal standards.
  • Conduct technical evaluations to validate manufacturability, practicality, and production readiness.
  • Detect and resolve engineering bottlenecks, offering well-founded technical solutions and improvements.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and production teams to deliver precise and timely results of the highest quality.


This company is renowned for its expertise in designing and constructing luxury superyachts, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. They are recognized for delivering high-quality, custom-built vessels that meet the unique specifications and desires of their clients.


  • Competitive salary ranging from €4.000 – €5.400 per month, depending on knowledge and experience.
  • 38 days off annually (25 vacation days + 13 ADV days for full-time employment).
  • One-year contract with the intention of a permanent position (subject to board approval).
  • Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer.
  • An inspiring workplace at the forefront of luxury yacht building.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Maritime Technology, or an equivalent discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience within the shipbuilding or yacht construction sector.
  • Skilled in 3D AutoCAD, with a preference for experience in Siemens NX, Teamcenter, or Cadmatic.
  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Solid understanding of shipbuilding production methods and construction processes.
  • Highly accurate and quality-driven, with a sharp eye for technical detail.
  • Expertise in hatches and hydraulic systems, mooring arrangements, railings, exterior staircases, and propulsion components.
