Azure Cloud Engineer
- Create, configure, and maintain Azure Policies and Initiatives to enforce security, compliance, and operational standards.
- Monitor policy compliance across Azure environments and perform remediation actions as needed.
- Build and maintain Azure DevOps YAML pipelines supporting CI/CD and configuration-as-code practices.
- Develop and manage ARM and Bicep templates to standardize Azure resource deployments.
- Write PowerShell scripts to automate operational tasks and support governance enforcement.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and delivery teams to align implementations with platform standards.
- Participate in agile sprint ceremonies and contribute to backlog items related to Azure governance and automation.
- Validate and test policies, templates, and scripts before deployment to production.
- Document implemented solutions and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
A leading organization is seeking two Azure Cloud Engineers to enhance its cloud governance, automation, and compliance capabilities within the Azure platform. The engineers will focus on Azure Policy creation and remediation, CI/CD automation using Azure DevOps, and infrastructure deployment through ARM and Bicep.
This role supports the Cloud Competence Center (CCC) in improving compliance, scalability, and automation across the Azure environment and includes assisting delivery teams with policy remediation activities.
- Gross monthly salary up to €7000, depending on experience
- 9 additional leave days (ADV) on top of statutory vacation days
- Hybrid work model: 3 mandatory office days, remaining days flexible
- Temporary assignment of 5+ months
- Availability:32–40 hours per week
Technical Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in Azure engineering, infrastructure automation, and platform governance.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Policy management, Initiative definitions, and remediation workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including YAML-based pipeline design and release automation.
- Proficiency in ARM and Bicep for infrastructure-as-code deployments.
- Solid experience with PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Familiarity with C# and Python is an advantage.
- Understanding of CI/CD principles, configuration-as-code, and version control practices (Azure Repos, Git).
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Monitor, and compliance dashboards.
- Working knowledge of Azure networking and security architecture.
Preferred Background
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Dutch is a strong plus.
- 3–5 years of experience in Azure platform engineering or DevOps roles.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-305) are preferred.
- Experience in regulated or audit-driven environments (e.g., SOx, ISAE, DORA) is advantageous.
- Experience collaborating with managed service providers is beneficial.
