Project Engineer

As a Project Engineer, you are the overarching multidisciplinary technical lead responsible for the entire project—from kick-off to delivery at the customer site. You are part of the project team, make decisions, and coordinate detailed engineering tasks within the project budget and timeline, while safeguarding quality. You are capable of drafting a project plan and are technically accountable for achieving the project objectives in the field, with a focus on mechanical engineering.

Your responsibilities

• Designing the technical specifications and supporting the creation of functional specifications with a full understanding of customer requirements;
• Developing an engineering work breakdown structure for the project, including planning and cost forecasting;
• Creating and reviewing drawings and calculations related to the mechanical specifications throughout all project phases;
• Maintaining accurate project documentation to provide insight into project status, identifying risks in a timely manner, and taking measures to manage those risks;
• Providing technical guidance and clarity where needed, and ensuring the required quality output;
• Overseeing final checks after the in-house testing phase as well as during installation and commissioning at the customer site;
• Being technically responsible for the entire project from definition phase to final delivery at the customer;
• Working closely with the project manager;
• Supporting the procurement process from a technical perspective;
• Assisting the service department with after-sales activities.

The organization is specialized in the production of machines for packaging materials. The operations span the globe, with locations in the Netherlands and the United States.
