The NPD Quality Engineer leads all Quality aspects of new product development, by influencing the customer, the development team (Design, Process, Program Management, etc.), and the Manufacturing team.
The goal of the NPD Quality Engineer is to achieve flawless execution of product development. A successful NPD Quality Engineer possesses the following strengths: strong leadership, very pro-active, results oriented, strong follow-through, the ability to influence others, a strong technical understanding of the products, a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and the motivation and ability to independently reach across geographical and cultural boundaries to solve problems.
This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance protocols and methods to transform raw materials into finished products. The position requires planning, implementing, and managing compliance with internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory standards for global distribution. Additionally, it encompasses designing inspection and testing procedures to evaluate product precision and accuracy. Data analysis of reports and production information is conducted to identify trends and recommend improvements to quality standards and procedures. Developing methods for testing, sampling, and training is also a key responsibility. The role may include acting as an internal consultant, providing technical guidance on complex projects. Furthermore, collaboration with quality inspection supervisors to train and oversee inspectors in utilizing control forms, procedures, and resolving quality issues is essential.

- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
- Production / hands on experience as a Quality Engineer, with minimum of 5 years job experience
- New Product Launch experience, preferably in electronic components, along with 1 year job experience or more
- 2-3 years experience with Root Cause Analysis, effective problem solving in 8D / A3 formats
- Program management skills (ability to manage time and resources to accomplish tasks)
- Ability to work independently while working well within a team
- Robust communication skills (written & verbal) in English and other EU languages
- Electrical component and circuitry knowledge highly recommended
- Capability to drive positive change in our processes and products
- MS Office, Oracle / Agile, Customer Web Portal capabilities
- Ability to travel to individual Sensata, customer or sub supplier sites
- Hold team accountable to comply with Sensata New Product Development / Agile processes
- Capture, document, apply Lessons Learned from NPD launches (Good and /or Poor experiences). Use them to build a stronger NPD system and proactive approach for future launches.
