We are now looking for a Business Controller who will support our company in making a valuable difference in the century to come. The Business Controller will be the financial business partner for the business, assisting them in achieving the organizational goals and identifying risks and opportunities. This is a unique opportunity to work with a highly motivated team which is based in Rheden, the Netherlands to capture the growth opportunities in the renewable hydrogen market!  

What needs to be done?

  • Create a support base by identifying the needs of other departments and aligning these with the needs of the Finance & Control department and organizational goals.
  • Understand the business drivers, be a sparring partner and challenge the status quo.
  • Create and maintain a professional working relation with peers of other departments.
  • Implement integrated processes together with other departments and finance organizations to be able to generate historic and forward-looking financial information in an efficient, reliable, valid, complete, and relevant way.
  • Improve forecasting accuracy, understand business drivers of HCR, and connect them to KPI’s (leading indicators).
  • Align current and future finance and controlling processes with processes of other departments and other locations (Howden BC Compressors).
  • Identify trends internally and externally and discuss these with other departments.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and support the Finance & Control team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, international business or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years’ extensive experience in working in a similar position in business control within a multinational company with a high demanding stakeholder environment.
  • Fluent English language skills, both verbal and in writing (fluent in Dutch, both verbal and in writing is a bonus).
  • Good communications skills supplemented by an outgoing and winning together mentality.
  • Analytical skills to see the big picture, the risk, and the opportunity quickly, and to escalate if this is not meeting the identified goals.
  • Business Intelligence skills and/or experience.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and changing a mindset within a department and/or organization.
  • Used to deal with deadlines and a tight planning & control cycle.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% maximum.
