Specialist Facility Engineering

To strengthen our Technology Center, we have job opportunities under temporary contracts at our GES Technology Center for Animal Health (AH) in Boxmeer and are looking to hire (Senior) Specialists in Facility Engineering as per one or more disciplines in the following profiles:

• HVAC engineering design for air handling and control of cleanroom environments (all grades (A, B, C, D) and non-classified areas), including room decontamination systems. 
• Mechanical engineering design for facility systems (generation and distribution) such as plant steam, chilled water, process chilled water, hot water systems, and other.
• Electrical engineering design
• Civil and Structural Architectural design for Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facilities (cleanroom systems), Laboratories and R&D Facilities.

Purpose of the role:

You'll report to the Technology Center AH Engineering Director and you'll be responsible for the engineering design of either one or more of the above mentioned disciplines.

As part of a matrix organization, you'll collaborate with a diverse group of seasoned engineers hailing from various disciplines – industrial, process, facility and commissioning & qualification engineers. You'll also be working alongside end-users, as well as with Delivery colleagues who will provide support in the form of project managers, project engineers, cost controllers, schedulers, and estimators.

Collaborating with external design partners will be a key aspect of your role as you strive to achieve designs that are not only cost-effective but also align with our design intent. You'll be tasked with overseeing interesting projects across a broad spectrum, adopting an end-to-end approach that encompasses front-end loading, execution, commissioning & qualification, handover, and post-handover activities.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in one or more of the aforementioned disciplines in our capital investment projects;
• Build and maintain close collaborations with GES and end-user SME’s;
• Develop and maintain relationships with design and construction partners;
• Review of designs from our design partners and ensure the designs meet our engineering and safety standards and follow our procedures, best practices and design guides;
• Actively support standardization and fit-for-purpose principles.

With more than 300 employees worldwide, the Global Engineering Solutions (GES) division is responsible for managing investment capital and designing and executing capital projects for our global organization. GES is organized in a Technology organization (responsible for the design of projects), a Delivery organization (responsible for the realization of projects) and a Project and Business Support organization. The Technology Center for our animal health organization consists of approx. 20-25 employees and has its home base in Boxmeer, The Netherlands.

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in HVAC/Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering depending on profile requested.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and High-Tech industries as a design engineer in capital projects in one or more of the disciplines mentioned above.
• Familiarity with EudraLex Volume 4 Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines, EU GMP Annex 1, EHEDG, and ISPE guidelines.
• High-level insight into construction processes of pharmaceutical facilities and equipment integration in buildings.
• Excellent English language skills, knowledge of Dutch and German preferred.
• Willingness to travel for project assignments (20% minimum).
