We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer with expertise in Linux systems to join our dynamic team in the defense industry. As a Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and secure Linux-based platforms tailored to meet the unique needs and challenges of our defense projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Linux-based platforms to support mission-critical defense applications and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design scalable, reliable, and secure platform solutions.
- Configure and optimize Linux operating systems and associated software for maximum performance and efficiency.
- Implement security best practices to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of sensitive defense-related data and systems.
- Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes.
- Monitor platform health, performance, and security metrics, and proactively address any issues or vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate potential security risks.
- Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams and external stakeholders on Linux platform-related matters.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in Linux systems administration and security.

- €50.000 - 80.000 EUR gross per year all inclusive.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in DevOps or site reliability engineering (SRE) roles, with a strong background in software development, systems administration, or infrastructure automation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell, with experience in automating tasks and workflows.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and compliance requirements in aviation and defense environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in distributed systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
