A world where sustainability is becoming increasingly important requires a new way of thinking and working. As a Manufacturing Technology Teamlead you have a very skilled team of professionals, and access to the most innovative technologies to accomplish.

In this position, you are responsible for the performance cycle and the development of personnel, particularly for the polymer group working for the polymer plants on the site. You lead a team of chemical engineers and process control engineers (~12 fte). Additionally, you roll out and advance the site technology program to improve plant performance and sustainability in the long run. Therefore, you should possess both people management skills and the technical knowledge necessary to grasp improvement requirements in production processes and corresponding systems.

From 2017 up until now, Chemours has realized 99% HDPO-DA (GenX) emissions and is about to reduce an 80% reduction in other fluorinated emissions, working towards a 99% emission reduction target lined up for the next years. Sustainability is a highly valued objective, illustrated by the occasional introduction of unique, and sometimes never-before-used production process technologies. This offers a challenging working environment but, more importantly, the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art sustainability-driven production technologies.

This Manufacturing Technology Teamlead is part of the Manufacturing Technology leadership team reporting directly to the site Manufacturing Technology Manager.

Tasks and responsibilities for the Manufacturing Technology Teamlead:

  • Aligning team manpower and roles with the technology program to achieve site business goals
  • Supporting optimal daily plant performance
  • Developing and implementing the (long-term) technology program in alignment with stakeholder needs
  • Co-creating the Manufacturing Technology vision to ensure viable long-term business strategies
  • Promoting knowledge-sharing with Chemours technology teams worldwide
  • Providing leadership, coaching, and development to a team of professionals/engineers to meet their career goals and aspirations
  • Engendering a health and safety-driven culture in the organization to the benefit of team members and the business

Chemours (6.8-billion-dollar revenue in 2022) is a chemical production company that creates products and coatings for many types of products we use every day, ranging from plastic syringes and lower emission vehicles to coatings for hydrogen batteries, 5G communications, and dust-resistant coatings for solar panels.  Chemours offers the right candidate the following terms of employment:

  • An annual salary of approximately € 110,000 and a standard savings compensation of 2.4%
  • Public transport compensation is possible
  • Monthly healthcare compensation of 60 euros
  • Excellent pension scheme with a set employee premium of 5%
