In this role you will be responsible for one of the most used set of analytics applications in ASML and their migration towards cloud. You will enable your DevOps team to build new features and help maintain the underlying (cloud) platform. All to enable your fellow ASML colleagues to achieve great things.
Context of the position
The position is within the IT Big Data department of ASML. You will be part of one of the 60+ Scrum/DevOps teams creating Big Data & Analytics solutions for the company. As a member of the IT Big Data & Analytics team you are part of a team of best-in-class engineers, organized in Agile teams. It's their mission to translate ASML’s business challenges into Data & Analytics solutions. You will be part of one of their 60 (!) DevOps teams, working together in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment.
The teams are a mix of young talent and senior specialists. They share a mission to deliver business value for our stakeholders using modern data analytics technology. Next to that, you will closely work together with ASML’s Cloud Centre of Excellence (GCP & Azure), to ensure maximum reusability and adherence to security standards. ASML is a crucial player in a fast moving semiconductor industry, which means change constantly around. You will work with your team to capture the constant and dynamic refinement of business priorities and data & analytics user stories. You are looked upon, and rewarded for, being able constantly switch between business value and technical implementation. Together with your team you will work constantly to drive ASML’s ambition by building a modern Data & Analytics platform, using modern Cloud components and leveraging the Agile mindset fully.
Your role will be shaped aligned with your skills and ambition. You can operate from the Platform-side or from a DevOps or Operations perspective.
You will designing and migrating solutions on on-prem infrastructure to cloud using Kubernetes. Furthermore, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining and improving deployment pipelines and development servers, designing, implementing and maintaining infrastructure solutions, framing guidelines for use, and assisting DevOps teams in automation and solution deployments where needed. You will be part of a DevOps team, helping your and other teams in the Big Data area to be successful.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in migrating from on-prem infra to Cloud (Azure and GCP)
- Integrating applications with containers and Kubernetes
- Integrating and developing Helm charts
- Designing and building continuous deployment pipelines using Jenkins and/or GitLab CI
- Troubleshooting and debugging server issues (on prem Linux)
- Creating technical documentation and infrastructure guidelines
- Enhancing monitoring solutions (currently Grafana) for IT DevOps teams, using scripting.

You have a strong software engineering background and for example a MSc. in Computer Science or equivalent. You should have experience in working in an DevOps / Cloud Engineering role, preferably working in a highly complex environment like ASML's. You work with Cloud Platforms, like MS Azure and Google Cloud, on a daily basis. You should not only feel very comfortable with some (not all!) technologies below, but you should be able to take your colleagues along on driving Cloud native services. Big plus is you have experience with enabling Data Science & Data Engineering use cases!
Your technical skillset should include the following:
- Using Cloud vendor products such as Azure, AWS or GCP
- Kubernetes
- Container technology (i.e., Docker)
- Cloud native solutions such as NGINX, Prometheus, Grafana
- Terraform, GitOps, ArgoCD
- CI/CD tooling
- Linux
- General SQL knowledge
- Git source code management (a plus if using the Git CLI)
- Java + Maven + Spring Boot (optional)
- Node (optional)
- Azure Cognitive Search (optional)
