Can you spearhead the expansion of the leading player in the chemical cleaning segment of the refining industry? Then join the team of RTI.
Refined Technologies is growing its team of Artisans with a Director of Business Development as it expands its horizons and increases its business presence in Europe. In this regional position, you act as the face of RTI to esteemed clients and lead the charge in fostering strong relationships with these clients, while practicing core behaviors of RTI. You develop and grow your branch by acquiring new clientele (European refineries).
Pricing proposals and other financial activities surrounding vessel cleaning are included in the scope of the dedicated Director of Business Development. Using your thorough understanding of consultative sales combined with a process background and competitive urgency, you schedule and lead sales presentations, position RTI as the preferred vendor, create pricing proposals for the territory, and acquire new business through referrals of enthusiastic partners, all to consistently exceed expectations.
Through training and other methods of learning, you understand the RTI core cleaning processes (as well as common industry piping circuits and equipment such as PFD or P&ID interpretation) so you can present these value-adding services to clients. You ensure that provided services are of the highest quality and follow up with clients to confirm RTI's cleaning met or exceeded expectations. You finalize and present reports regarding activities to key contacts of clients.
As Director of Business Development Europe, you are responsible for the following tasks:
- Developing and maintaining relationships with various levels of client personnel controlling vessel cleaning decisions
- Conforming cleaning scopes for each cleaning
- Identifying and tracking client turnaround schedules 18 months in advance for the assigned territory
- Supporting Operations planning meetings, scope changes, and execution activities for all work awarded in the territory
- Securing client purchase orders on time to ensure that the RTI Operations team has enough advance notice to provide excellent service
- Handle accounts receivable, delay fees, or holiday fees issued in the territory
- Executing small projects in the field on an as-needed basis and performing other duties to support RTI's business needs
- Working in tandem with the Director of Operations of the area to ensure that clients receive prompt responses to their inquiries along with timely planning documents, and facilitating the timeline of deliverables

For the challenge of Director Business Development Europe, RTI offers an excellent remunerations package including bonus, pension and company car.
The ideal fit for this position possesses the following:
- Bachelor's degree (Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or Business preferred)
- Experience in consultative sales and strong presentation skills
- A strong desire to build new relationships with multiple levels of personnel, thus cold calling experience is desired
- 10 years of working experience within process/chemical engineering, knowledge of downstream processes, an operational excellence-focused mindset, eagerness, humility, and assertive energy
- Proven relationship/network in the downstream/refinery space in Europe
- Willingness to travel within the European region. During the first year, primarily for training purposes, you may travel more often to attend applications or meetings in other regions. This position typically requires up to 40 overnights per year
- Knowledge of refinery or chemical plant processes is a strategic advantage
- Basic communication skills required include excellent grammar, spelling, enunciation, brevity, and confidence in a group presentation setting
- Strong English language skills are required, Dutch and/or additional European languages are preferred
- Living in The Netherlands is preferred
