Are you an experienced Controller with extensive knowledge of investment strategies and solutions? Can you develop management reports, and coordinate subsidiaries on monthly actuals and other activities while incorporating top-level accounting standards?
The Finance & Business Control department (including Tax) is one of the key departments of ORIX Europe. The headquarter is located in Rotterdam and the department itself is responsible for the ORIX Europe group wide finance strategy, the consolidated financial reporting to ORIX Corporation in Japan, including the statutory reporting for ORIX Europe, tax calculations and filings and for ensuring that the right laws and regulations are followed. The departments also play a key role in new business development activities and the ORIX investments in Europe.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Corporate control of the subsidiaries: coordination with the Finance / Control departments of subsidiaries on monthly actuals compared to budgets and forecast
- Monthly group management reporting to ORIX and ORIX Europe Management Board
- Financial analysis in terms of profitability analysis compared to budget, targets and strategy projections
- Financial forecasting: modelling, coordination and preparing forecasts
- Participation in the annual ORIX Europe Group budget process and analyzing contents, and reporting of the budget towards ORIX Corporation
- Periodic variance analysis on financials and support of the reporting team by preparing specific disclosures
- Coordination and overview of PPA impairment testing and net investment hedges
- Asset under Management (AuM) reporting: coordinate monthly and quarterly AuM reporting
- Accounting standards: follow and identify developments, additions and updates to global accounting standards (IFRS, Dutch GAAP and USGAAP) and translate these into the daily processes
- Project management for ORIX Europe overarching initiatives (i.e. integrating acquired business, process improvement initiatives)
- Periodic meetings, dialogue, and coordination of group accounting topics with ORIX Headquarters and/or Group Auditor

As Senior Group Controller you will report to the Head of Group Finance & Business Control and be part of a highly educated, experienced and driven team of Financial Controllers and Business Controllers. - An academic degree (in Accounting/Finance or Economics), preferably supplemented with relevant control/audit qualification (RC/RA certification or other similar certifications like CMA, CPA, etc.)
- Experience with financial market processes and products, preferably in the asset management industry
- Excellent analytical skills and able to translate complex material to the point analysis
- Comfortable with handling and navigating large amounts of data
- Skilled in MS Office and most preferable in MS Excel and knowledge of programming languages (i.e. Python, SQL)
- Good leadership, excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strategic thinker that loves to take initiative in a constantly changing environment
- Team player with an international mindset eager to work in a culturally diverse environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset, high standards and aimed at continuous improvement
