About the job

As Global IT Controller you will provide financial control and guidance by supporting the ERIKS IT Infrastructure organisation so the Shared Services Organisation (SSO) can make sound business decisions. Clear budgetary planning and alignment with the internal organisation is essential for both the short and long term, and the organisation need to know the financial implications of any decision before proceeding. In addition, care must be taken to ensure that financial practices are in line with all statutory legislation and regulations. In this position you should be able to stay connected with all stakeholders, internal and external, and give independent advice. You will report directly to the Global Director Infrastructure.

Main responsibilities:

  • Advice and challenge leaders and managers on budgets, realisation, forecast and financial effectiveness and efficiency (compared to market prices)
  • Set up and improve the financial management processes, both within the IT community, as well as in relation to other stakeholders
  • Based on the principles of Show back and Chargeback set up and manage an integral overview
  • Ensure accurate and complete transferral of cost from the Shared Service Centre Organisation to other entities
  • Provide expertise when needed in the preparation of comprehensive business cases/projects or financial proposals
  • Act as a business partner in the IT-related issues and financial processes, including outsourcing projects
  • Analyse competitors and market trends and translate this to opportunities and risks
  • Keep oversight on overall IT-related costs
  • Develop financial management mechanisms and controls that minimise financial risk
  • Prepare proposals for cost-reduction opportunities
  • Provide control on suppliers, engage with the Vendor and Contract Manager and together adhere suppliers to the agreements

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in finance or economics related study
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (controlling and/ or financial systems)
  • High numeracy and sound technical/ IT skills
  • Solid experience in finance tooling (preferably known to ServiceNow - Financial Management) and with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Focus on stakeholder management and very good communication skills
  • Able to properly and fluent express in English, spoken and written
  • Strong analytical skills and persuasiveness, with ability to have a helicopter overview and also strong insights in the relevant details
  • Strong commercial and business awareness
