The position

  • Development of HD diesel engines to meet future emission regulations by means of delivering the engine, aftertreatment and integration calibration considering:
    • Application of engine and aftertreatment ECU functions and engines and aftertreatment controllers
    • Considering state of the art engine and aftertreatment hardware including sensors and actuators
    • Customer requirements, emission and performance targets and hardware constraints and limits
  • Planning, preparation and supervision of engine tests on engine dyno’s
  • Documentation, evaluation and reporting out (including presenting) of testing results
  • Development of problem solutions and realization of solutions in close cooperation with internal and external development partners
  • Application support for vehicle related engine and aftertreatment application
  • Collaboration in project teams

About the company

Within PACCAR Global Engine Development, the Verification department is a newly-organized global team with engineers located at the state-of-the-art DAF Engine Test Center in Eindhoven and at the PACCAR Technical Center near Seattle. Together we take on the challenge to verify our future combustion engine platforms towards upcoming emission and on-board diagnostics legislation, with best total cost of ownership and at the highest reliability in all applications.

About you

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization on internal combustion engines
  • Detailed knowledge in the field of thermodynamics, combustion and control engineering
  • Three years of diesel engine and/or aftertreatment application experience. Experience with HD truck engines is a pré.
  • Experience of handling application tools and setup of communication between application tools and engine ECU’s
  • Experience on diesel engine exhaust aftertreatment (EAS) interaction (SCR, DPF, DOC)
  • Structured working approach combined with pleasure to work in teams
  • Enthusiasm to deal with complex engine-EAS systems and to take much pleasure in development of solutions for complex technical problems
  • Good English skills are mandatory combined with willingness to learn Dutch
