The position

As a Cleanroom Contamination Control Engineer, you are responsible for safeguarding and continuously improving contamination control within high-tech cleanroom environments. You play a central role in ensuring cleanroom compliance, operational stability and efficiency across manufacturing operations.

You combine hands-on operational support with engineering oversight of cleanroom performance, material flow and personnel behaviour. Acting as a key interface between Manufacturing, Quality, Facilities and Supply Chain, you ensure contamination risks are controlled while production remains efficient and scalable.

You contribute to investigations, improvement initiatives and design changes, and you provide guidance and training to teams working inside the cleanroom.

Your responsibilities include, among others:

  • Monitoring and optimising daily cleanroom operations to ensure compliance with ISO classifications, GMP requirements and internal standards
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining contamination control strategies, protocols and monitoring programs
  • Analysing environmental monitoring data, investigating excursions and deviations, and driving root cause analysis and CAPA
  • Collaborating with Facilities and Engineering on HVAC performance, pressure cascades, cleanroom qualification and maintenance planning
  • Designing and optimising material and personnel flows, including gowning procedures and entry/exit processes
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean or Six Sigma projects, to improve cleanroom performance and efficiency

About the company

You will join an international high-tech manufacturing organisation operating in highly regulated and contamination-sensitive environments. The company develops and produces advanced technologies for demanding industries, where quality, precision and reliability are critical.

Within the organisation, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Facilities work closely together, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, process optimisation and operational excellence.

About you

You are analytical, quality-driven and comfortable working across multiple disciplines within a regulated high-tech environment.

You bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or a related field), or equivalent experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in cleanroom operations, contamination control or manufacturing engineering
  • Solid knowledge of contamination control principles, ISO cleanroom standards and environmental monitoring
  • Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, change control and regulatory compliance (GMP, SOPs)
  • Understanding of HVAC systems, pressure cascades and cleanroom qualification processes (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to train and guide technical and operational teams

Important: candidates must already live in the Netherlands and have a valid work permit.
