- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, project requirements, and applicable regulations (e.g. classification societies and flag state rules)
- Assess manufacturability and feasibility of designs in close cooperation with multidisciplinary teams
- Identify technical bottlenecks and provide practical, production-oriented solutions
- Resolve design and construction-related issues independently, escalating complex challenges when required
- Propose and implement design adjustments to improve buildability in collaboration with production
- Signal missing or incorrect information and proactively address risks and inefficiencies
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of engineering standards, guidelines, and best practices
- Review and validate drawings and technical documentation before release to production or external stakeholders
- Ensure timely delivery of assigned engineering scope within budgeted hours
- Maintain awareness of cost impact related to design changes and production adjustments
- Provide guidance, direction, and coaching to junior engineers or apprentices where applicable
- Act as a technical link between engineering, production, and project management
- Coordinate with lead engineers and project stakeholders on design progress and technical decisions
- Work closely with production teams to gather feedback and improve engineering output
- Align with subcontractors and suppliers on technical aspects under supervision of project leadership
As a Production Support Engineer, you are responsible for a defined engineering scope within a single project, acting as the key technical interface between engineering and production.
You support the production team with practical solutions, clarifications, and optimizations based on detailed engineering data such as drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation. Your role ensures that design intent is translated into feasible, high-quality execution on the shop floor.
Depending on your experience, you take on a guiding role within the team and contribute to knowledge development and quality improvements within the department.
- Competitive salary between €3,500 – €5,000 per month (based on knowledge and experience).
- 38 days off (25 vacation days and 13 ADV days for full-time employment).
- Travel allowance based on €0.23 per kilometer for commuting distance.
- One-year contract with the intention to become permanent (subject to the decisions of the board)

Required
- Strong communication skills in English (C1 level or higher)
- Broad technical understanding within shipbuilding or similar engineering environments
- Knowledge of production techniques such as welding, CNC machining, composites, or outfitting
- Experience working in a production-driven environment
- Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD) and PLM systems (e.g. Teamcenter)
- Understanding of relevant regulations (classification societies, flag state, safety, quality, environment)
