Architect Mechanics Flow & Thermal

As an Architect Mechanics Flow & Thermal (F&T), you play a key role in defining and realizing the mechanical architecture of complex high-tech systems. You operate in a multidisciplinary environment and contribute to challenging business cases and long-term technical roadmaps from a flow and thermal perspective. Your responsibilities include:

• Defining the Flow & Thermal architecture by translating customer needs into specifications, budgets, and conceptual designs for (sub)systems, including test definitions and integration requirements to close the V-cycle
• Collaborating closely with other Architects, Project Managers, and Design Teams to achieve the required system performance with minimum cost, effort, and risk
• Setting up and executing modeling and analysis strategies, translating simulation outcomes into system-level performance and design decisions
• Ensuring final hardware meets applicable quality and (safety) standards, while taking responsibility for overall mechanical design considerations when required
• Managing stakeholders effectively, leading by example, encouraging ownership within teams, and communicating clearly with both internal and external partners
• Driving innovation by introducing new technologies and solutions, actively building internal and external networks, and pushing the boundaries of Flow & Thermal performance within high-tech systems

To succeed in this senior architectural role, you bring the following profile:

• Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Physics
• At least 10 years of experience in Flow & Thermal engineering within high-tech system and/or equipment design
• Ability to operate across multiple abstraction levels, from detailed technical analysis to high-level architectural decision-making
• Broad multidisciplinary orientation, understanding how F&T expertise fits within complex mechanical and system-level contexts
• Strong analytical skills combined with excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholders
• Extensive experience with modeling and analysis methods, standard Flow & Thermal components, and applying expertise beyond your direct specialization when projects require it
