We are looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer based in Zuid Holland. Your work area will be The Netherlands. You will be responsible for the application support of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) in the process industry like Oil & Gas, Power, Chemical and Terminals in the Process Systems & Solutions business. As a service professional you are performing in house and field service activities. Configure and maintain basic configurations and applications in Emerson systems. Perform startup and commissioning support for Emerson systems and small applications.

You are able to:

  • Troubleshoot Distributed Control System (DCS) application failures/problems
  • After evaluation of potential impact and risks, implement the configuration and application changes
  • Assist in implementing new releases and installing firmware upgrades
  • Perform system installations
  • Establish ‘Task risk analyses’
  • Initiate actions from system documentation and reports (Quality management)
  • Lead in projects Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT)
  • Check and advise system/application design
  • Perform service desk support for applications and configurations (both internal and external)
  • Escalate and follow-up of calls towards Global Service center and Emerson technology

  • 0-3 years experience in Application Support Engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level in related field
  • Computer Literate (MS Office, with excellent knowledge of Excel)
  • Strong in personal administrative housekeeping (timesheets, reports)
  • Agreed to perform a 24/7 on-call service
  • Be willing to perform short activities abroad
  • Relevant safety training and knowledge of safety procedures
