Over deze vacature

You are responsible for planning and organising of corrective and preventive maintenance activities on laboratory equipment, R&D machines and pilot units on the Chemelot Brightlands Campus in Geleen at the Maintenance & Engineering department of DSM Materials Science Center. You co-provide a safe workplace for contractors and ensure that rules and laws are complied with. The focus is on delivery of objectives and plans and ensuring safe and reliable usage of technical equipment, looking for continuous improvement and setting the right priorities. You work closely with purchasers, lab technicians, engineers and several contractors. Your direct report is the maintenance department teamleader.


  • Executing the maintenance plan and providing the required external resources
  • Scheduling work orders
  • Planning preventive and corrective maintenance activities in close cooperation with laboratory technicians
  • Coördinating and organising maintenance activities
  • Keeping records of planned and executed activities
  • Ensuring maintenance planning updates and additions in Ultimo (maintenance management software)
  • inventorying and updating data in Ultimo of existing equipment in labs and warehouse
  • Advising on technical optimization and improvements
  • Offering support in the execution of inspections, breakdown analyzes and projects

  • Preferably Dutch and English language skills (writing, speaking, understanding)
  • A technical Bachelor Degree, preferably mechanical or electromechanical
  • Dutch ‘MBO’ level with proven track record and sufficient experience (5+ years) in a R&D or chemical maintenance department is also acceptable
  • Knowledge of Dutch laws and regulations regarding maintenance of equipment
  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office software and maintenance management software
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
