As Account Manager for Emerson Process Management you will need to demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills. These competencies will support you to prepare and execute solutions presentations and product introductions. In order to be successful, you will need to be able to communicate customer needs and requirements to internal departments. You will be visiting potential customers to prospect for new business, you will be acting as a contact between a company and its existing and potential markets and preparing a sales account plan for assigned sales territory.


We are looking for an Account Manager based in Rijswijk with at least 6 years sales experience and ready for your next step or new challenge. You are based in the West/Mid-West part of the Netherlands (Randstad/Utrecht/West-Brabant). Your broad experience is within the process industry like Chemical, Oil & Gas, Terminals, Power or adjacent areas in the process systems business. As a sales professional you are responsible for the financial results in your area or segment with existing and new customers, have a strong drive for result and you are a team player.

You are able to:

  • Develop profitable new business and growing share in the existing customer base;
  • Develop and maintain strategic level relationships with mainly new and to some extend with existing customers (in- and external);
  • Meet a defined sales target to achieve and operate within established policy guidelines;
  • Maintain and develop existing customers through high levels of service in order to expand and strengthen the relationship;
  • Manage (complex) sales cycles from lead to closure;
  • Coordinate complex cross-divisional sales projects;
  • Visit potential customers to prospect for new business;
  • Prepare and implement business plan;
  • Act as a senior contact between Emerson and customers;
  • Communicate customer needs and requirements to internal departments;
  • Negotiate the terms of an agreement and closing sales;
  • Gather leads and market/customer information;
  • Regularly update in sales administration tools.

To qualify, your CV needs to demonstrate:

  • At least 3-6 years relevant sales experience in the process industry;
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level in related (technical) field;
  • Advances level of sales, marketing and presentation skills;
  • Familiar with Emerson divisions and products;
  • Verbal and written communication skills fluent in Dutch and English;
