We offer an interesting position in the Manufacturing Engineering department of Bosch. As data scientist you contribute in a team responsible for the development for a big data analysis environment and connected processes. The communication style is considered to be open, honest and direct. The data scientist is able to work independently in a dynamic environment - define and translate business requirements into a data modelling opportunity for sustainable growth and profitability.


You will be responsible for frequently aligning data engineering topics with your counterpart in Ho Chi Minh City Plant. Furthermore, you work closely together with the production engineering department to organize complex data and automate analytics, focussing on agility, decreasing costs, increasing productivity and quality.

  • Applying data analysis, modelling and simulation to constantly improve the business KPI and manufacturing processes by capture meaningful insights from data and turn them into competitive advantages
  • Making sense of large amounts of data from various sources, finding the invisible patterns and create alerting systems for manufacturing operations
  • Perform complex queries, run models, link analyses and insights to business/project results and prepare interactive reports or dashboard
  • Responsible for advanced analytical, Machine learning or Predictive applications by developing models to be used by manufacturing operations and engineers

  • MSc in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or similar with 2 years of experience
  • Proven experience with Relational Database development and ETL processing (preferably SSIS) by managing and programming (using T-SQL on MS SQL/Oracle)
  • Advanced skills with Data warehouse development (preferably SSAS)
  • Strong affinity with Machine learning/predictive algorithms (using R/Python/…) and possibly on streaming data processes
  • Application programming (using .Net)
  • Affinity with mass production environment and understanding Machine control systems (PLC’s, CNC, SCADA, etc.) & connection of such Machine (sensor) to Database connectivity (IoT)
  • Creation of reports using Visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau etc.) and reporting to the stakeholders about new insights
  • Fluent in Dutch and/or English (written and spoken) & Strong communicator and team player
  • Willingness to learn, resilient and flexible and practical approach
