For MECAL-HTS in Eindhoven, we are recruiting a Thermal Analyst.


The Thermal Analyst is a member of a multidisciplinary project team and is directed in his daily work by the Team Lead. The Analyst makes effective and efficient technical calculations/analyses/designs advices that contribute to an adequate solution for challenges or questions which are put forward by the customer.


  • Executes assignments in close cooperation with customers and/or as part of Mecal - HTS D&E projects.
  • Prepares transparent analysis proposals based on customer requirements.
  • Uses FEM, Matlab and other tools/methods to analyse high tech systems.
  • Performs measurements as a tool to analyse or validate systems.
  • Identifies the relation between thermal design and system performance.
  • Presents analyses and practically applicable design proposals.
  • Makes transparent and clear reports (both verbally and in writing).
  • Works effectively within the project team.

  • Technical education at least at academic level (M.Sc.).
  • At least 2 years of proven relevant work experience.
  • Good theoretical knowledge of thermodynamics and structural mechanics.
  • Proficiency in using FEM package (ANSYS preferred).
  • Good awareness of customer needs and requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of different stages in a development/design process or project.
  • Fluency in English language both in speaking and writing.

  • Being able to switch between in-depth analysis and broad, system level approach.
  • Solution oriented: combine in-depth understanding with pragmatic design proposals.
