The engineering environment is used by more than 9000 research and development engineers, worldwide. Are you the Java DevOps Engineer who enables our Research and Development engineers to get most out of their state-of-the-art development tools?
Implement and extend our development environment for engineering with capabilities needed to implement and maintain the Machine HW-SW definition. This environment is mainly developed in JAVA, supported by a data management layer implemented in PREEvision, a tool provided by a third party supplier. You will work in close cooperation with the ASML internal customer and other agile IT Teams.
As an IT DevOps Engineer you are involved in the development, implementation, (automated) testing, review, documentation and rollout of JAVA based solutions. You work as a member of an Agile team using the Scrum framework. With the team, you will be responsible for implementing new features, fixing issues and supporting users of the environment. You will closely collaborate with teams inside and outside of the Agile Release Train (ART) to deliver a stable and usable product.
- Design and build JAVA based back-end solutions
- Develop and improve new features in collaboration with the customer and end-users
- Further develop, implement and migrate DevOps processes and products
Context of the position
At ASML we invent, develop and manufacture world-leading high-tech lithography machines for our chip making customers. These tailor-made machines can image billions of structures in a few seconds with an accuracy of a few silicon atoms. The IT division supports information management, infrastructure and key business processes across ASML. The IT
infrastructure, hardware and applications are absolutely mission-critical for almost all ASML’s internal and external activities.
A department within the IT organization is P&T (Product and Technology) Hardware Engineering; this department is responsible for the engineering infrastructure services and applications/tooling for ASML’s Development and Engineering organization. We ensure that these services are running in an optimal way and we look at innovating the services.
IT P&T Hardware Engineering supports two development disciplines: Hardware (mechanical, electrical, simulation) and Software engineering. As an IT JAVA DevOps Engineer, you will be active in the Hardware group, maintaining and supporting an engineering application for internal ASML users.

- Bachelor level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, SW Engineering, Embedded Systems or Information Technology.
- 3+ years working experience
- Good knowledge of JAVA and the JAVA framework
- Basic knowledge of Python
- Understanding and practical experience with
- TDD process (Clean Code)
- Back-end development
- Maven build process
- Windows OS knowledge
- Data modelling
- Agile experience (Scrum/SAFe)
