Generic IT Services and User Experience (GIT-UX) is a department within the client and has the mission to Secure Growth by delivering Agile, Reliable and Secure IT products and Services against and at benchmark costs, investing in a workforce that drives value for our customers.
Global Connectivity is the team that designs, builds and operates the core network infrastructure of the client. They are a diverse mix with over a hundred network professionals in different levels of seniority that support the network infrastructure and the related components. In their current evolution they are transforming into a state of the art network capability and are looking for the right talent to help in the journey.
Functie
- Ensuring the stable and reliable operation of the Global Connectivity IT infrastructure by adopting a leadership stand inside the team
- Represent and guide your team to be successful
- Able to quickly analyze data and make logical decisions
- Liaising with team members, management, and architects to ensure projects are completed to standard
- Have excellent collaboration skills, a sense of ownership and a team player
- Embrace the idea that your work will directly impact hundreds or thousands of users
- Standardize and document development and deployment operations and methods
- Desire to develop a thorough understanding of our core products and how our customers interact with it
- Promote a continuous improvement environment
Identify yourself as an excellent connectivity engineer:
- Background and experience in networking including TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, routing, Software Defined Networking, (Next gen) firewall and administration of networking hardware
- Building, monitoring and maintaining high-volume, low-latency network platforms
- Able to analyze and optimize performance in high-traffic applications and networks
- Able to read network configurations (Layer 1-7, Firewall, IPAM, Load Balancers, Software Defined Networking)
- High-level understanding of IaaS versus PaaS

Profiel
- A Bachelor’s degree with IT orientation
- Cisco CCNP or CCIE/CCDE Certified
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a Network Engineer with hands-on experience in routing, switching and security field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a team lead
- Expert in making understandable high level and detailed designs
- Knowledge of networking technologies including TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, network security, Software Defined Networking, NAC, Load Balancing, IPAM
- Experience with network automation
- Constant desire to improve the status quo, to learn about and discover new things
- Ability to reverse engineer issues within a network where little or no documentation may exist
- Proactive mindset, enthusiastic, eager to learn and customer-oriented
