The energy sector and the (chemical) industry are in a transition towards the use of new feedstock, the use of renewable energy, increasing process and energy efficiency, circularity, synthetic fuels and carbon capture and utilization. The department Sustainable Process & Energy Systems works on all these transition topics. Our core technical expertise is Gas Treatment and Conversion, Separation technologies, thermo-catalytic conversion, Electrochemistry, Bio-based Building Block synthesis, Energy Conversion & Storage and Plastic recycling. We work for and with (renewable) energy and chemistry companies and in a network of international knowledge partners. The department is very international oriented, in work as well as in staff in the department.

With an increasing work stock, we are looking for a junior lab technician who wants to work on the topics of Carbon Capture and Utilization and Synthetic Fuels. You will be part of the lab team that builds setups and performs measurements in our lab as well as at the premises of our clients.

  • You have an HBO or Master in e.g., Process Technology or Chemical Engineering
  • You have at least 1 year of working experience in a process laboratory environment or similar
  • You have worked with pressurized flow systems, vacuum systems and twin ferrules couplings
  • You understand the challenges of developing technology that needs to be scaled up
  • You have a good mastery of the English language, both verbal and written
  • You have affinity with Carbon Capture technologies and Synthetic fuels
  • You have experience with Labview
  • You are safety conscious and accurate
  • A drive to develop innovative solutions to technically challenging problems by combining the right mix of intellectual curiosity and a pragmatic approach
  • You like to work in projects that are challenging and can have strict deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills and proactive communication
  • You like to work in a team
