About this vacancy
The electrical development engineer works within Nexperia – ITEC in one of the project groups. Location is in Nijmegen. ITEC develops and realizes semiconductor assembly, test, inspection and automation solutions. ITEC designs and builds high-speed tapers, die bonders, wire bonders, moulding systems and test equipment. These machines are controlled with high-tech motion systems and run in big assembly plants in Asia.
To design new equipment/building blocks or change those drastically, Nexperia is looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer ITEC. BSc level of thinking with development experience is required, as well as a will to collaborate with experts from other technical areas and knowledge in the field of machine control.
The Electrical Development Engineer is part of a project team. He takes the global design, as set-up by the senior electrical development engineer, as a start. He analyses the global design, gathers additional information with peers, suppliers and in literature, and verifies if the assignment is feasible. Based on this, he estimates the amount of development time and cost. The project leader uses this information in his project plan. He develops a functional design from the global design. He realises a first draft, offers solutions for critical points and technical risks and compares possible alternatives. He searches solutions for new elements, taking development time, cost, manufacturability, availability of components and working methods into account. He is responsible for the design, refines the design, using specific CAD tools and simulations. He outsources the manufacturing of the prototype to workshops, and occasionally to equipment builders. He places the necessary purchase orders. After building the prototype, he will test according to specification. In this integration phase, he is primarily responsible for the part he designed. He closely collaborates with peers from other technical areas. If possible, he also contributes to testing of other parts. Tasks and responsibilities include the realisation of assigned designs/sub-projects.
Nexperia is a dedicated global leader in Discrete, Logic and MOSFETs devices. They are a new company with a long history, broad experience and a global customer base. Originally part of Philips, they became a business unit of NXP before becoming an independent company in the beginning of 2017.
Nexperia’s focus remains on efficiency, producing consistently reliable semiconductor components at high volume: 85 billion annually. They have an extensive portfolio, produced to meet the stringent standards set by the Automotive industry. Their industry-leading small packages, produced in-house, combine power and thermal efficiency with best-in-class quality levels.
You will be employed by YER and seconded to Nexperia. YER offers competitive compensation. A, more than, comfortable package will be provided to the suitable candidate.
