Job description

  • For our client a well known office for Naval architecture and engineering for superyachts, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a high-tech knowledge area at the core of our design and engineering process. Your daily tasks in the field of CFD analysis and (support with) optimization of our designs are in the following areas:
  • Resistance simulation;
  • Appendage and trim wedge optimization;
  • Wakefield analysis and optimization;
  • Hull shape optimization;
  • Screw simulation and analysis;
  • Wind climate simulation and analysis;
  • Exhaust and flue gas analysis;
  • Helicopter landing analysis.
  • Within the project team you are in constant contact with the CFD Specialist and/or Naval Architect to provide essential CFD information regarding the ship design. You carry out the CFD scope within multiple projects and you can keep an overview between different activities in different phases of the project. You report to the Pool Manager CFD and Marine Engineers.
  • You carry out a wide range of assignments that require knowledge and expertise in the specialist field of CFD. The focus is on performing CFD analyzes and simulations, for this you consult with the CFD Specialist and/or the Naval Architect in the project team.

Offer description

  • a gross annual salary between € 45,000 and € 65,000
  • a fully paid pension and a gross annual salary between € 45,000 and € 65,000
  • 25 vacation days and 13 ADV days (based on 40 hours);

Candidate profile

  • Relevant professional training at university level
  • Affinity with and experience within the ship and yacht building industry
  • At least 2 years of demonstrable experience with maritime CFD simulations and software Star-CCM
  • Excellent technical command of the English language (required) or Dutch language (pre)
  • Knowledge of 3D modelling software, for example NX is an advantage
  • Accuracy, quality-conscious and structured working
  • A high degree of independence, proactive attitude and analytical thinking skills
  • Working at the forefront of worldwide yacht building, at the forefront of the latest techniques
