About this vacancy

The Network Security specialist will assess current protection level of the network, datacenter and external network connection to and from the network. He/she will support IT to ensure the compliance of these assets towards ASML policies, standards and applicable legislation. The Network Security specialist will support projects, assess the effectiveness of the security of the network, infrastructure and will, together with involved stakeholders, determine a solution strategy for detected security non-compliance upon this scope. Where applicable (s)he support investigations / forensics activities upon the network and DC..

Focus will be on protection and security of :

  • Network devices such as (not limited to): routers, switches, firewalls, DHCP and DNS
  • Network and Datacenters (e.g. network access, network / LAN/ WAN/ WLAN and DC segmentation)
  • 3rd part network connections / ASML network devices located at 3rd party locations
  • Software Defined Network / Infra as a code / Zero Trust / SD WAN
  • Scope: ASML worldwide (USA, Europe, Asia)
  • Support and/or conduct audits, pentests and computer forensics upon the above scope

Job description

  • Support the Set-up of IT security standards and baselines applicable for network and datacenter and support the translation of these standards towards Operating Procedures and Operational Controls (people, process, technology)
  • Responsible to assure that security and assurance requirements are effectively covered within Network , datacenter, infrastructure policies, standards and guidelines
  • Support operational processes like incident management, asset identification, vulnerability management, (prio) patching and hardening for the scope of the job
  • Verify adequate implementation by ASML IT organization of IT security standards and security controls related to the scope of the function
  • Responsible to advice on security improvements, roadmaps and additional controls on network, infrastructure and datacenter based upon audit results, incidents, industry standards and other lessons learned
  • Monitor and report upon Network Security Key indicators applicable for the scope of the Job and align upon content with stakeholders including alignment upon corrective actions
  • Building a bridge between IT and OT organization and infrastructure
  • Define, align and support security roadmaps for network and datacenter

Candidate profile


  • Relevant security certifications, like CISSP / CISM
  • Relevant CISCO Certifications (at least CCNP Security)

Deep technical knowledge of:

  • Network Security and security of network devices (e.g. routers, protocols, switches, DNS, DHCP)
  • Datacenter infrastructure and related security topics (e.g. segmentation)

Familiar with developments within area of responsibility:

  • Software Defined Networks (SDN)
  • Internet Of Things (IoT)

Familiar with industry security best practices / framework such as:

  • Relevant ISO standards (e.g. ISO 27001, ISO22301)
  • Datacenter (security) Standards (e.g. TIER)
  • NIST Standards
  • CSA
  • SANS TOP 20


  • More than 2-5 years’ experience with security (assurance) of :
    • Network devices (e.g. routers, switches, load balancers, DNS, DHCP)
    • DataCenter (DC) security.
    • Experience with Software Defined Networks / Infrastructure as a Code
    • Experience with Zero Trust strategy.
    • Experience with iOT infrastructure (e.g. ICS / SCADA)
