Job description

Our client is recruiting a Technical Support Project Lead - Electronics & Firmware for the technical support department, based in the Utrecht area (Netherlands) who will work closely with the engineering, production, sales and quality teams to ensure that the company is able to deliver high-quality products. You will be in charge of the support requests and lead the technical challenges, validations, planning, etc. throughout the rolling out of their products in their own and their clients' factories.

  • Technical lead of multidisciplinary problem solving/ debugging projects regarding embedded software/ firmware and electronic systems, taking ownership of the challenge, planning and producibility of our precise smart actuators.
  • Overseeing the troubleshooting and verification processes, including different test simulation scenarios and analyzing the results together with the engineers in the support department. Also being end responsible for the whole product documentation.
  • Being the technical dialogue partner for different internal and external stakeholders, such as research and production teams, support engineers/ product designers and not in the least occasionally towards customer and production site (Mexico/ Ireland/ China) visits will be part of the job.
  • Regular reports and updates to the management team, including ongoing activities, project status, product risks and planning.
  • Implementing and optimizing Quality and Engineering excellence tools in the design process as IATF 16949, SSDD (including DFMEA) and 5S.

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor or master in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical/ Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, Automotive Engineering or similar.
  • Total of 5+ years work experience in the field of (automotive) embedded software/ firmware and/ or electronics.
  • Experience in leading cross functional team members, and a thorough understanding what it means to design for mass production for a highly regulated (automotive) industry.
  • Technical knowledge related to embedded software is preferred, in fields such as:
    • Object-oriented design, software architect design and documentation
    • Programming languages, such as C, C++, Python.
    • Communication busses as LIN, CAN, SPI, I2C.
    • Motor control.
    • Revision control and related tools (SVN, GIT).
  • Technical knowledge related to hardware is preferred, in field such as:
    • Electronic component and MCU (micro control unit) datasheets.
    • Electronics designs and design software (pref. Eagle) that interfaces with the design.
    • EMC (electro-magnetic compatibility).
    • Ability to work with measurement equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, function generator) for software and product debugging.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.
