A modern, knowledge-driven company, in many ways, runs on communication. Empowered employees need knowledge and information to do their jobs, and need to understand the big picture to make smart decisions. Leaders who understand the potential of communications to help achieve business results need the right tools, platforms, and hands-on support to increase their impact. Change is constant and needs to be explained and advocated. As communications professionals at ASML, we believe we are much more than information purveyors or internal journalists. We seek to support the company in raising its communications competence, improving its communication flows, and thereby increase employee engagement and achieve better results. Will you join us?
You are a change communication professional with experience working in an international environment. You are able to give strategic advice to senior managers as well as being a strong project communication lead with an eye for breaking up complex problems and opportunities into clear deliverables. Deliverables that you pick up with a convincing hands-on mentality. You feel motivated to take ownership of the professional communications activities within the scope of the role and to help realize the objectives of the Re-use program in an integrated way with ASML business and sector messaging.
You are a relationship builder with a keen eye for stakeholder management. You are business savvy, understand business goals and are capable of translating these into communications goals, creating strategic, outcome-focused, and measurable communications plans. You know how to tell stories that inspire and engage.
You reject the notion that communications are the exclusive job of the communications department, and you’re able to activate leaders, managers, and employees across the organization to do their bit. However, it comes naturally to you to support and to keep on driving communication topics also in situations where key stakeholders might be unfamiliar with how effective communication could look like.
You know how to find ambassadors and organize a network of enthusiasts and volunteers. You advise, coach and train.
Experience from working with behavioural change in relation to Operational excellence, LEAN, sustainability topics or safety is an advantage.
As an internal communications manager, you will officially be part of the ASML wide Re-use program, however with a strong dotted line into the internal communications function where you will join a team of internal communications professionals, all supporting various parts of our business.
Re-use at ASML is a cross-sectoral program, managed through our Sourcing and Supply Chain team, with connections to a large number of sectors across our business. The program aims to drive the shift from linear ways of working (take, make, dispose of) to a fully circular model by 2025. The benefits will be eliminating waste, reducing costs and accelerating learning – re-use is no longer a choice but a necessity.
One of the greatest challenges faced by the team is to change the mindset of our employees (and our suppliers). We need re-use to become an automatic consideration at every stage of the value chain. That means, even from our initial design phases, re-usability and circularity are being built in to everything we manufacture or purchase.
Together with the program sponsor, board and manager, you will orchestrate and deliver the global change and communication activities in support of this transformation, driving and cascading the change story and actions down through the organization. Activating and engaging targeted stakeholder groups across ASML will be key.
You will be responsible for:
- Delivering a change communications strategy and plan that connects the various priorities of the program.
- Translating the plan into concrete initiatives and making sure they are delivered in a timely manner.
- Aligning with stakeholders and knowing when to challenge and when to jump on opportunities.
- Collaborating with the internal and external communications team to ensure strategic and operational alignment with strategic, business and relevant change topics.
- Helping the program to drive and foster a mindset where the business is motivated to drive the re-use topic themselves, allowing the Re-use program to focus on the strategic developments and critical initiatives.
- Enabling employees to learn from each other and to provide feedback to management through formal and informal channels – facilitating conversations, collaboration and communications amongst ASML employees.
- Developing communications capabilities within the Re-use program leadership.
- Supporting our Supplier communications to ensure that our supply base is a partner on our journey to circularity.
