Job description

You will be a member of the Sales Team that consists of Area Sales Managers and Sales Engineers(SE team). It will be your responsibility to work collaboratively with the Area Sales Manager and our (potential) customers to identify and analyse customer needs and requirements. You will translate those needs and requirements into a suitable line controls concept and solution within the identified commercial and technological boundaries and constraints. 

Furthermore, you will work closely with your fellow SE team members and co-workers in supporting teams like Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Service and Subsidiaries, in order to create a winning proposal i.e. suitable solution. You will present the proposed line control/process optimisation solution together with the Area Sales Manager to the customer, further building the relationship and engagement. And helping the customer to make a sound decision as to the most suitable solution. You will report to the Sales Business Manager.

Responsibilities

  • You will identify customer's needs trough RFP analysis and collaborative discussions with sales Managers, fellow Sales Engineers and customers.
  • You translate customer requirements into a functional line controls concept and/or PLC design, integration and/or interfacing with 3rd party equipment and/or process optimisation. You should be able to develop a project from inception to final design on this topic.
  • Create solution options for technical and functional requirements within the standards and solution portfolio.
  • Evaluate the designs together with Area Saes Manager, SE team lead, Sales Business Manager based on cost, functionality, business needs and risks.
  • Identify risks and discuss mitigation plans with SE team lead, Sales Business Manager based on cost, functionality, business needs and risks.

  • Calculate the designed controls concept at the appropriate level, standards, calculation methodology and tooling as well as adopted one way of working within team SE.
  • Compose input for proposals and support Area Sales Manager with technical presentations to the customer.
  • Your are able to work simultaneously on multiple projects.
  • Work according the the sales process structure and governance including usage of templates to ensure an effective sales cycle and proper handover of sales projects to project management.
  • Adapt to öne way of working"within the SE team; applies the SE team tooling a.o. sharepoint standard quotation text, calculation tools and follows applicable rules of engagement.

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Software Engineering or System Engineering.
  • At least 7 or more years work experience in a Sales Engineering role with focus on process optimization software and/or line control within the B2B capital industry.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems, Siemens TIA/ Allen Bradley
  • Previous experience in the Food industry is considered beneficial but not a necessity.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and writing), other languages like German and/or Dutch will be appreciated.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong focus on creating collaborative customer relationships.
  • Natural team player; works well in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of your time domestic and/or internationally
