Advising the executive board members of ING Group with their strategy formulation for the various Business Units across all geographies.
Functie
The Strategic Project Leader is responsible to analyze, compose and deliver a detailed solution to strategic challenges faced by the bank as a whole or by certain Business Lines individually. Besides bringing strategic consulting skills, the Strategic Project Leader leads a multi-disciplined project teams composed of 2-3 Strategy & Business Change (S&BC) consultants, representatives of internal clients and (sometimes) external consultants.

Bedrijf
S&BC, ING's internal management consulting arm, provides management consulting services to all of ING's business units across all of functional lines (banking, investments, life insurance, pension and retirement services). Our consultants assist business units CEO's and the executive board members with strategy formulation across the various business lines and across all geographies, where S&BC focuses on high visibility high impact projects
The department consists of approximately 20 professionals coming from inside and outside ING, mainly from strategy consultancy firms. The team originates its own projects (competes when necessary with external consultants) and bills internally for services rendered. Using this approach, the department has had a budget surplus since its initiation in the 1990s and managed to gain a reputation within ING.
Each assignment typically takes 8-14 weeks and is designed to address specific issue on management mind. The nature of exposure to wide range of topics, lines of business and top management, makes S&BC an ideal breeding ground for future management.

Profiel
- Young professional with a university degree (MBA preferred)
- 4-7 yrs of strategy consulting experience preferably from a top-tier strategy consulting firm
- Strong analytical skills with understanding of how to link strategies to financial plans and know how to utilize research to develop insight and drive actionable results (“business sense”)
- Good mix of leadership and ability to work effectively in teams
- Persistence, open and convincing communicator and able to communicate with all levels in the organisation including senior management
- Strong attention to details and willingness to travel worldwide
